Zend Server is available for Beta!

February 18th, 2009 Amit 4 comments

It is a happy day at Zend Technologies.

After major effort has been invested, another cycle is complete (o.k. almost complete..) and a new Zend Product is ready for Beta.

I was lucky to witness the product development cycle from concept phase to quality assurance and I can say that apart from being a very enriching experience from a professional POV,  it was also impressive to see a group of talented people work together on a  shared goal with such enthusiasm.

I’ll leave it up to you to try it out

Streaming, on demand music has been re-invented

December 21st, 2008 Amit No comments

deezer.com – this is the real thing guys.

This is going to be the Facebook of streaming, on demand music.

I didn’t even bother checking all the amazingly cool features they have there (blind test, smart radio, MP3 upload, all kind of preset radios and stuff). instead I started filling my play list with all the albums I could ever hear.

Have fun.

Getting real.

April 6th, 2008 Amit No comments

A colleague (and a friend) of mine spotted this interesting on-line book called “Getting Real“.

It is a collection of essays, experience based recommendations and in general a very nice ans easy “Sunday morning read”.

As someone who is mostly involved in PHP  – I read it from the perspective of a PHP Web application development (anyone said Facebook?)  but I guess it can also contribute to development of software in general.

Have fun.
