Market Day.

December 12th, 2007 admin No comments

It seems that the daily routine has the power to grind down long term plans to dust.

In his book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People Stephen Covey suggests you prepare a list of weekly targets in the beginning of each week rather then planning your daily targets each morning – he knows what he is talking about!

Anyway, after two hectic weeks at work I decided to take a day off and invest some time working on some of my projects.

I woke up relatively early determined to start working (I had only one meeting planned later in the afternoon) but as I consumed my morning coffee and started going over the morning blogs I opened the living room window and noticed it was an amazing day outside.

It was one of those clear, sunny days with not a cloud in the sky and this clean warm air – I thanked global warming and decided to go outside.

I live only a few blocks from the market but I rarely manage to get there. every time I do I keep telling myself I need to do it more often..

Being the lab rat that I am, I’m used to purchase my food in small vacuumed plastic packages. the market always reminds me there are still people out there (probably the quiet majority BTW) who actually respect the food they are eating and honor it by making the effort to go, select it out of a pile, weigh it and process it into something that is new and nutritious.

I got back just in time for my meeting… :)
