Back in Tel Aviv
It is already a week since I got back from my vacation and it seems that life returns to normal.
This evening, I am attending the weekly Roseberger traditional Friday dinner at my parents house and after that it is going to be rest rest rest for the rest of the weekend.
Although I was just away for a little bit more then three weeks, I noticed a dramatical increase in the use of an already popular social network you probably all familiar with called Facebook.
It is funny because on my very long journey home I was reading a book called The Tipping Point which explains this exact phenomena of viral spreading trends. looks like Facebook has hit the Tipping Point in Israel and will soon pass all other social networks in volume.
Anyway, of course I uploaded all my trip photos to Facebook and made them available for my entire group of friends to see. If you want to add me to your list of friends – feel free to go ahead and do it – I am trying to test the urban legend that Facebook puts a limit of 5000 on the number of friends you can have…
I am still wondering though how many of these new Facebook accounts are going to be accessed after the initial buzz fades away, or maybe it is here to stay and together with Google’s announcement from last week about the development of a new platform for mobile devices it informs about a new era in global communication? who knows. the only sure fact about the future is that it’ll be here soon enough…
I would like to recommend a book I read during my vacation which has left me pondering about how little do I invest during my day2day routine trying to predict what is actually coming next in the long term… reading that book, I decided to invest at least a couple of hours every week considering the long term future – read it – you won’t be sorry.
Well, it is almost time for me to prepare for dinner.
